Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of the Crimean Peninsula and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with two reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 75 mm (w) x 61. 27 mm (h), missing two of its reverse prongs, in
